Day 1: Find & Secure
First 24 hours are everything
Morning: Know Your Measurements
Before you leave, measure yourself or have someone help. You need: chest, waist, hips, inseam, and jacket length. Write these down. Don't guess—guessing wastes time.
Midday: Hit Local Stores First
Call ahead to check stock in your size. Ask specifically: "Do you have suits or tuxedos in [your size] available today?" If yes, go immediately. If no, call the next store. Don't drive blind.
Afternoon: Make a Decision
Try on 2-3 options maximum. Pick the one that fits best in the shoulders and chest—these cannot be altered quickly. Buy it. Leave with alterations scheduled.
Evening: Online Backup (If Local Failed)
If local stores struck out, check online retailers with same-day or overnight shipping. Amazon Prime, ASOS Express, Nordstrom. Filter by "in-stock" and your size. Order two sizes if unsure—return what doesn't fit.
