Great Style Has No Size Limit
Finding a well-fitting wedding suit can feel challenging when you're not a "standard" size. But here's the truth: every groom deserves to look amazing on their wedding day, and the right suit can make any body type look sharp, confident, and handsome.
The key is proper fit, the right style choices, and working with experts who understand how to dress larger frames. We've helped thousands of grooms of all sizes look their absolute best.
"The difference between a suit that fits and one that doesn't is transformative. Every groom who walks out of our store looks like he was born to wear that suit."

Suits That Flatter Larger Frames
These styles are particularly flattering for plus-size grooms, available in extended sizes.
Navy Double Breasted Suit
Double breasted is flattering for larger builds. The overlapping front creates a slimming V-shape.
Burgundy Double Breasted Suit
Rich color with flattering structure. Don't be afraid of color—it looks great on everyone.
Black Velvet Collar Tuxedo
Classic black is universally slimming. Velvet collar adds sophistication without bulk.
Royal Blue Double Breasted Suit
Vibrant color, flattering cut. Perfect for grooms who want to stand out.
Style Tips for Plus-Size Grooms
Double Breasted is Your Friend
The overlapping front of a double breasted jacket creates a slimming effect and hides the midsection. It's one of the most flattering styles for larger builds.
Dark Colors Create Length
Navy, charcoal, and black create a continuous visual line that makes you look taller and leaner. But don't avoid color entirely—burgundy and royal blue are also very flattering.
Proper Fit is Everything
A too-tight suit makes you look bigger. A too-loose suit looks sloppy. The right fit—shoulders that hit exactly, a jacket that buttons without pulling—is transformative.
Vertical Lines Help
Peak lapels, single-color ties, and elongated silhouettes all create vertical lines that draw the eye up and down rather than side to side.
Common Fit Issues & Solutions
Jacket pulling at the buttons
Solution: Go up a size in the jacket. We can take in other areas, but the chest/waist needs room.
Sleeves too long or short
Solution: Easy alteration. Sleeves should show 1/4 to 1/2 inch of shirt cuff.
Pants uncomfortable in the waist
Solution: Suspenders! They're more comfortable than a tight belt and add style.
Collar gap at the neck
Solution: Usually means the jacket is too big. Size down and alter the other areas.
Why In-Person Fitting Matters
For plus-size grooms especially, we strongly recommend in-person fitting rather than ordering online. Here's why:
- ✓ We can see exactly where the suit needs adjustment
- ✓ We help you find the most flattering cut for YOUR body
- ✓ We can make alterations on-site before your wedding
- ✓ You leave confident, not hoping it'll work
Plus-Size Wedding FAQs
What sizes do you carry?
We carry suits in a wide range of sizes, including extended sizes for larger builds. Come in for a fitting and we'll find the right size for you.
Should I avoid certain colors?
No! While dark colors are traditionally slimming, don't let that limit you. Burgundy, royal blue, and rich colors all look great. The key is fit, not color.
Is double breasted really more flattering?
For most larger builds, yes. The overlapping front and peak lapels create a V-shape that's universally flattering. But come try both styles—we'll show you the difference in the mirror.
